Advanced Features and Controls - The Lake LMX88 Audio System Processor for Loudspeaker Management and System Control (8 in 8 Out)

Powerful and Fully Featured Standalone Digital Audio System Processing with Peerless Credentials

The LMX 88 provides an 8 x 8 analog I/O, 8 × 8 AES3 digital I/O, 8 × 8 Dante networked I/O and two interfaces of AES50 where up to 24 channels from the up to 96 AES50 channels can be selected and used as inputs or outputs – this makes the signal routing very flexible. The 16 input routers have four fully user-programmable priorities for redundant input operation and provide seamless failover between the inputs.

  • Up to 48 audio input channels and 48 output channels directly routable. 16 input routers with 4 failover levels each can be matrix mixed into 8 LAKE MESA or 4 LAKE CONTOUR channels with up to 12 processed outputs
  • Console switching/mixing with Input Scenes. Recall Scene through front panel, Lake Controller or a custommade switching device through the internal GPI port
  • High-performance Lake digital audio system processor for unparalleled loudspeaker management and system control
  • Full system control via Lake Controller touch-screenoptimized software application
  • Raised Cosine Equalization plus linear phase, classic, FIR crossover and Lake XP capability including dedicated FIR for array optimization and multiband/limiter compressor for ultimate sound-shaping abilities
  • Configurable Lake groups offers simultaneous non-destructive parameter adjustments across all Lake platforms
  • 8 x Neutrik XLR providing analog inputs with Iso-Float ground isolation
  • 4 x Neutrik XLR providing AES3 inputs with up to 192 kHz sampling frequency with individual sample rate converter per AES3 input
  • 8 x Neutrik XLR providing 8 analog outputs with Iso-Float ground isolation
  • 4 x Neutrik XLR providing AES3 outputs with up to 192 kHz sampling frequency
  • 5 x RJ45 ports provide 8 x 8 channels of dual redundant Dante/AES67 interfaces and remote configuration via Lake Controller and Dante Controller software. One of the ports has PoE+
  • 2 x RJ45 ports provide 2 x AES50 individual interfaces
  • 1 x RJ45 port providing GPI
  • 2 x BNC providing Wordclock I/O with 75 Ohm selectable termination
  • High-quality A/D and D/A 24-bit conversion and 96 kHz internal sampling frequency
  • 10 different clock sources
  • High contrast full color IPS display with 6 dynamic buttons and rotary encoder for navigation
  • Dedicated buttons for Menu, Exit and Scene selection activation
  • Front panel accessible dedicated module input and output mute buttons and LED metering

Going LMX at FOH with Seamless Console Switch Through Scenes

The LMX 88 is a versatile centerpiece that allows you to easily manage the signal flow. It can receive signals from multiple consoles and allows for easy switching or mixing of those signals for distribution to your sound system. With the introduction of Scenes, you can pre-program any combination of signal flow and easily recall them using the front panel or the Lake Controller Software. Additionally, you can configure the GPI on the rear panel to activate a Scene using a custom switch for seamless console switching.

Signal Flexibility

LMX 88 provides the ultimate combination of input/output signal flexibility and fail-safe operation. Audio inputs are accepted via the Dante network and AES50 as well as on connectors for AES3 digital and analog.Simple programming in Lake Controller allows multiple, user-configured “Scene” presets to be stored (input scenarios). In addition, as with all Lake Dual Redundant products Dante Audio switch seamless between Primary and Secondary, and Control can also be used on either Primary or Secondary interface.LMX 88 provides a total of sixteen input routers which can be independently configured with up to four input fail-over priority settings. And the output of any of these input routers can go to any of the Modules via the Module Input Mixer, also be patched directly to any analog, AES3, Dante/AES67 or AES50 output – without using any of the valuable Module processing channels.

Dedicated High-Performance Sample Rate Converters per Input

It can be difficult to combine multiple digital sources using conventional solutions. However, the LMX 88 has solved this issue by including dedicated high-performance, low-latency sample rate converters per input enabling the connection of multiple non-synchronized digital sources to the LMX 88 with the simplicity of analog. If required the LMX 88 does also allow these converters to bypassed per input for synchronous operation.
